Sadly a 6.8 temblor shook Japan again today.  The good news - no tsunami warnings.  I well recall our 6.9 quake in Washington, I was in my bookstore standing beneath a large aging overhead heater tenuously suspended from the ceiling and amidst towering shelves of books.  A popular radio talk show host was with me.  We stopped mid sentence, he asked 'What is that' , I managed earth.... he was gone, out the door, into the parking lot.  I unwisely paused, considering my computer, then again another pause as I looked at an antique vase teetering on a high shelf.  When I revisited good sense I scrambled out the door... not a particularly wise decision - in the open parking lot fly fishing light poles angled down toward us, vehicles played at bumper cars and still the waves of its force crashed around us.  The aftermath of days filled with anxiety were a mere shade of what the Japanese peoples are experiencing.

Turkey is being simply lambasted by earthquakes and aftershocks; 36 so far, with the largest temblor at 7.2 on the Richter.  From CNN:

Though Japan had the technology and means to prepare for a large earthquake (though certainly not on the scale of the quake which decimated their island)  Turkey hadn't the forward looking ability to prepare for these events.  My heart goes out to them.
