Finally found some news about Felder's new album.

Most useful link is obviously http://www.felderfans.com/ but Don does have a new official website;  http://www.donfelder.com/,

New album Road To Forever should be out in October 2012.  Lead single, Fall From the Grace of Love, is out towards the end of August. Harmony vocals, almost inevitably, are provided by David Crosby and Graham Nash.

Don's announced some dates under his own name (ie. not An Evening At The Hotel California) around October time.

Thanks for the new album news. I guess not many people are expecting a new Felder album at this point since his last one is about 30 years old. I'm rather curious about it though.

Thanks for the link Joe B :icon_thumright:

I quite like it.....

The lyrics are a lot easier to make out than his Airborne album :D

Fall From The Grace Of Love

oh,  somebody's gonna fall
yeah,  it happens to one and all
cause these hearts they're just made to be broken
we just don't know quite where or when
that sweet taste of love keeps us running back
back again

I don't wanna fall, fall from the grace of love
I just wanna run beneath the open sky and rise above

oh,  somebody feels the pain
yeah,  old wounds they still remain
they will return in the darkest of night
grab you and hold you so tight
they'll haunt you and taunt you till first morning's light
then

I don't wanna fall, fall from the grace of love
I just wanna run beneath the open sky and rise above

(slide guitar solo)

I don't wanna fall, fall from the grace of love
I just wanna run beneath the open sky and rise above

don't let me fall, fall from the grace of love
I don't wanna fall, fall from the grace of love

(repeat)

Uh-huh. Good songwriting, good playing, too bad he doesn't have a 'unique' voice. Musically it would be a perfect Eagles fit, and ironically if it would have Glenn's voice and Don's lyrics - wow, what a song that would be!

I suppose Glenn and Don may have knocked out a tune titled Good Riddance since jettisoning Felder at the beginning of the Millennium but we all know they'd have far too much class to actually put it on a record and release it.

Just wish I could say the same about Felder. :(

I wonder if he'll be singing this alongside Tequila Sunrise, Witchy Woman and Take It Easy at future Felder concerts ???

You Don't Have Me

If there's something wrong
why can't you just step on up and tell me
cause it won't take too long
for you and me to wrestle through this honesty
now we've both been here
now we're back once again

I don't know what you're looking for
but you've got everything you need
it's just never enough
you still got to have more
you've got everything but me
no you don't have me

Look me in the eye
I can tell you're dealing me a dirty hand
tell me what kind of a friend
would turn his back and rob you blind just like he planned
it takes a wicked heart and empty soul to do what you do

I don't know what you're looking for
but you've got everything you need
it's just never enough
you still got to have more
you've got everything but me
no you don't have me

more, more, that's what you keep telling me
more, more, can't feel love but your heart is empty

I don't know what you're looking for
but you've got everything you need
it's just never enough
you still got to have more
you've got everything but me

don't have me, no, no, no…..
don't have me, no, no, no…..
no you don't have me, no, no, no…..
you've got everything but me

Must be nice to know Don Felder well enough to think that this song is about Henley and that would be Frey, not "Frye".  Or to have psychic abilities and reach into his mind to discover this tidbit.  Or is it in the liner notes on the album maybe?  "Written for and dedicated to Don and Glenn".

I always get a kick out of Felder hate.

All of the articles I saw about Felder's new album mentioned that he wrote the songs after his divorce and firing from the Eagles.  I don't think it's much of a leap to assume this song is at least partially about Don and Glenn......or maybe even his ex-wife.

In case you missed it.....one of the articles I mentioned.......

Robbie.....

Im sorry yoy feel like you can't post again, but you can't let one unpleasant, rude person ruin things for you.  You are entitled to have an opinion.....who cares if others disagree?  This is, after all, supposed to be a discussion board.  We aren't always going to agree with everyone.  That's life.

I think fans often times try to ascribe literal and 'neat' interpretations of songs and what or who they are about.  I do it myself...but the reality is that there are probably a lot of composite characters and subjects in songs.

I remember always suspecting that 'You Don't Know Me At All' off of  Actual Miles was Henley sort of ranting about life with the Frey/Eagles, as it was written towards end of HFO when rumors were things weren't all together pleasant.

But, even if partially true, I hope Henley wasn't telling Glenn how good he looked in black.

I seem to remember at the time reading articles where it was said the song was about Don's feelings toward the Internet and fans who thought they knew him.....at least the title anyway.

Excuse me for hurting your feelings Robbie, but I would think that a member of a message board for a band would at least know how to spell the member's name correctly while insulting one of said band's former members.

And excuse me again, "unpleasant, rude". This is just the sort of behaviour that I seem to come across in any discussion where Don Felder is mentioned. Face it ladies, there are MANY people out there that believe that Don and Glenn are, shall I just politely say; "unpleasant and rude" in regards to their behaviour towards Randy, Bernie and Don Felder. The big settlement that was awarded Mr. Felder and shrouded in secrecy was not awarded to him just because some judge "hated" the Eagles. It was wrongful termination and he deserved to have them cough up a boat load of money.

I expect his solo album to be received on "Eagle" message boards as well as his book was. His vocals will be criticized for sure, when actually, his vocals are not that bad. At least he didn't regurgitate up a bunch of covers in an overly engineered and sickly slick album that was recently released by a former band mate. And what is it that Henley is working on at the moment?

Like it or not, Randy, Bernie and Felder were all members of this band in their heyday. Most of the songs that are heard over the airwaves in this day are ones with the imprint of those two founding members and the man they made the fifth partner.

Joe is having success with his latest solo attempt, and I hope that Don Felder has a good run with his when it's released.
