Thanks for posting the link Lisa and thanks to Parade for streaming After Hours.

I wont forget my first impressions of this one. I FELL ASLEEP! on track three or four  :-[

When I awoke,  I enjoyed the last two tracks The Same Girl (R Newman) and After Hours (Tempchin, Frey).  It was kinda weird hearing the official version of the title track after listening to the bootleg for so long.

Glenn said he hopes a fraction of the Eagles fans will hear this and develop an appreciation of those great songs.  Sorry Glenn,  I was pining for a proper Frey solo album on first listen.

Obviously, I can only take MOR music in very small doses so I'm still to give it a second listen.

I think it sounds wonderful.  Glenn really did the songs justice, and his voice sounds really good on this material.  Having said that, I won't ever really listen to it unless I'm having some retro 40's cocktail party or something.  It's just not my cup of tea.  Maybe this will motivate Glenn to write and record another album (solo or Eagles).

I have to be honest.  I thought this album is boring.  I know he's a pro and it's well done and all that, but it is just vanilla background noise for the most part.  After Hours the single is okay.  The rest is just sleepy.   :sleepy1:

I think it's worthy of a little more investment thirdbase.  I felt I needed to educate my palate a bit to really enjoy After Hours.  I'm still finding the early tunes a bit samey.

On the whole, Glenn's vocals are fabulous, the arrangements and playing are excellent and the songs are, of course, top notch, so there is plenty to enjoy.

My new favourite is It's Too Soon To Know which has a little bit of Glenn led vocal harmonies and a 40s big finish :icon_thumleft:

I hope Glenn's hasn't chosen Route 66 as the lead track. That's the track I avoid the most and I think Glenn's version of Caroline No edges Tim's version but they're both great :icon_thumright:

Here's Glenn singing Shadow Of Your Smile on the Kimmel show.

Glenn Frey Performs "The Shadow of Your Smile"

His band look a lot smarter than they did in those awful grey shirts they were wearing in the Route 66 video.

Glenn seems to have a new sax player and he's superb :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
