This stinks!  I live fairly close to Fairfax, but I'll be out of the area on vacation until 11/13! :BangHead:

Is there anyone out there with a little influence that can get him to move the show a day or two to the right? :laughing7:

General Eagles Discussion / Re: Don & Timothy Go To A Garden Party
« on: October 06, 2009, 08:36:18 PM »
I understand what you're saying, Yose.  It can make you wonder, "What's the point?", to cover a song and do it just like the original.  But with that being said, I still like how he sounds doing these songs.

I also agree that Fogerty is at his best when he does his own material.  But this album is intended as a sequel to his first solo album, The Blue Ridge Rangers, which was all covers as well.  One big difference between the two albums, though,  is that he played all of the instruments on the first one, while he has several guests on the new one.  Two of the lesser known guests, Buddy and Julie Miller, are on several of the songs and really add a lot to them.

But I'm really enjoying this album because I love the way he sounds on the country & western songs.  It reminds me of some of the songs he did with CCR. :icon_thumright:

General Eagles Discussion / Don & Timothy Go To A Garden Party
« on: October 03, 2009, 09:46:55 PM »
Don and Timothy guest on John Fogerty's cover of Garden Party (originally by Rick Nelson) on his new album, "The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again".  They sing back-up and each take half of the second verse.  Don sings the verse in a lower register than he does most of the time; if I didn't know it was him beforehand, it probably would have taken me a few listens to figure out it was him.  Timothy sounds awesome on his verse - it's nice to hear him sing something different than the love songs or earnest "message" songs he sings with the Eagles.

Has anyone else heard this song yet?  What do you think of it?
