Not sure how descriptive my title is or if this is even in the appropriate forum, but -

I have zero musical talent and can't play anything but my absolute, all-time favorite instrument is the bass guitar (followed closely by the drums). I can recgonize the bass parts to songs I can't name and sometimes don't even like, except for the bass.

I was just listening to Eagles Radio and heard 'Let It Rain'. Not a song I'm crazy about but the bass in that one is fabulous. There are so many songs where I wish I had the right electronics to lower the volume on everything but the bass parts. That said, I'm not crazy about songs with the bass as lead, I want my bass on the bottom, not the top.

Don't bother pointing out that I'm weird, it's old news.

I've always been very partial to drums and drumming. In my opinion the drums are what make songs exciting (with guitars right behind them.) They immediately stand out to me and I cannot listen to any song without either moving my hands or feet to the beat. This is another reason why I love Don so much.  Grin I have my own set of drumsticks at home but no drums to play on. That still doesn't stop me from "air drumming" though.  laugh I love it!!

I guess I should add......my favorite song to listen to and play along with is "Dirty Laundry" - especially the Millennium Concert version. It's full of so much energy!

Have to agree with you there. I'm not a big jazz fan, but that's a great piece.

Cindy's and my favorite Eagles just happen to play our favorite instruments. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!  sign10

Well my favorite instrument is the drums - but I was interested before I knew of Don. laughing7 I've always played the drums, but didn't get serious about them until about 3 years ago I guess. I have so much respect for drummers. I remember being sore everywhere after I would practice; and I still am most of the time. It's a great workout! I've learned a lot from watching/listening to Don. A lot of different fills and techniques. I always find myself unconsciously moving my hands and feet to songs. My second favorite instrument is the bass. That's who I listen to to stay on track! And I just love the sound of a nice loud bass! Every thing that plays music must be on "bass boost" when I'm around. laugh My favorite drummer (besides Don Grin) is Tico Torres from Bon Jovi. He has a great style.

My favorite songs to play on the drums are Those Shoes, and In The City from HFO. I'm quite partial to Those Shoes because it was the first Eagles song I learned on the drums. I've yet to learn any Bon Jovi songs.. Tico is hard to keep up with! laugh

My favourite instrument is the accoustic piano.  I just love how expressive it can be when played by someone with real talent. Many of the Eagles/Don's songs have some great piano on them.

I learned to play piano & accoustic guitar when I was a teenager, and had some 'refresher' lessons on the piano in my twenties. Since then I've played sporadically, but I still have a piano, have just upgraded from my fairly basic keyboard to a really nice keyboard/arranger, and still have an accoustic guitar.
Sadly I'm very out of practise which means my fingers are a bit stiff, so it all sounds lumpy instead of smooth.
I've made a New Year resolution to practise more this year.
