I don't agree with his 87th rating, but I guess he's lucky that Rolling Stone included him at all. Shocked

He's number 1 in my book.

I couldn't agree with you more!  Even looking at it objectively (which, I admit, is hard), I think he is better than 87!

Ugh! I just looked at the list!  Aretha Franklin - # 1??  Bob Dylan in the top 10?  Karen Carpenter way down at 94?  I demand a recount!   dontknow

I agree with you all! And this can't be strictly on voice alone!

Bob Dylan??? I can't even stand listening to him.

And I don't even know some of the other singers.

I see he beat out Stevie though, at 98, but he's only one above Willie.   protest

A couple of comments made by the folks around me at the Houston concert last night fit into this category I think. One of the women who'd been a long-time fan but had never seen them live said "I can't stop watching Don Henley play the drums." I said "I know. I can't take my eyes off him!" laughing7

Another woman, after hearing Hotel California sung live for the first time, said "I think I fell in love with Don Henley tonight."

I was just thinking that...Don is never mentioned in the polls as one of the greatest drummers.  But he's pretty damn good!  He can really hit it and I love the syncopation he does.  And there are not a lot of singer/drummers out there.

I'm the exact same way.  I couldn't tell you what the other guys were doing on stage when I've been to the concerts.  They could be on fire, dressed as giant chickens, totally naked (all right, that one might be a stretch... Grin), and I'd still be focused on Don on the drums.  A few times Glenn's been in my way at the concerts and I've had to try to peer around him to see Don.   Undecided  I was awfully tempted to motion to him to move a little to the left more than a few times in Milwaukee.
